Ginger Joe and Liam Firkin teamed up for two winners in last week's Lucky 15 at 11/1 and 11/2. Check out this weekend's picks here!
Last week's Breeders' Cup Each-Way Lucky 15 for Liam Firkin and Ginger Joe would've returned over 70pts of profit (1pt stake per bet).
Check out this week's picks, with three from Aintree and one from Doncaster.
Leg 1: Idem - 12:55 Aintree - Ginger Joe
The Pertemps Qualifier has only encouraged 7 runners to line up, but it should be a good race on paper.
From a betting perspective though, the Lucinda Russell trained Idem makes plenty of appeal off a mark of just 128.
He is a dour stayer over the extended three miles and his recent runner up effort at Hexham, should have his fitness primed for this assignment. 13/2 looks more than fair based on the credentials on offer
Leg 2: Apollo One - 13:25 Doncaster - Liam Firkin
APOLLO ONE (5/1) was a very unlucky runner-up on his last appearance and had the gap presented itself a little sooner for Paul Mulrennan then I’ve no doubt he would’ve finished in the winners enclosure.

He will enjoy a little bit of cut in the ground having been the winner of the Group 3 on soft ground last October and I will be hoping that third time is the charm for Apollo One in this listed event.
Leg 3: Alcedo - 14:05 Aintree - Ginger Joe
Alcedo is a really interesting runner for Venetia Williams this season.
He is a nice 7yo who has shown plenty of ability over the past two seasons, but I still feel there is more to come from him.
He has mainly raced on soft or heavy conditions but I don’t see why the good to soft will be an issue for him and off a mark of just 121, he has to be considered at a double figure price.
Leg 4: Our Power - 14:40 Aintree - Liam Firkin
OUR POWER (15/2) has run extremely well after an absence from the racecourse. A winner at Ascot in 2022, again at Kempton in 2023, and a very good second last season behind King Turgeon after a break of 377 days.
He is now a 10-year-old but was revitalised last season going very close on all 4 starts with form figures of: 3322 and they were in competitive fields, including that final outing at Ayr in The Scottish National behind Klarc Kent and Captain Cody.
His age wouldn’t be too much of a concern for me given how some of the older horses have fared in this race in recent years.
Of the past 5 renewals there have been seven horses aged 9+ to have filled the first 4 places with two of those winning this event.
Our Power will be coming back in trip but I don’t see that as a negative and is a winner at the distance previously in his career and give those pulled from the 5-day entry stage, he will most likely have a bit of a weight to contend with and the reduction in trip can only help him with that regard which will hopefully be even further alleviated by very good conditional jockey, Dylan Johnston.
