Steve Ryder returns with his Thursday selections, heading to Punchestown and Sedgefield for today’s action.
Tip 1: 11:55 Punchestown - A Great Buzz - 1pt
The Robert Tyner stable have started the season in fantastic form with 8 winners from 20 runners since May including 4 winners from their previous seven runners. They run A GREAT BUZZ (best priced at 9/2) here on his reappearance and he should hold strong claims of getting off the mark at the tenth attempt.
A Great Buzz has run well to finish 3rd on two occasions off marks of 92 and 90 and he runs here off a mark of 93. The six-year-old returns from 299 days off the track but given the form of the stable, he should make a bold bid.

Tip 2: 12:50 Sedgefield - Clean Getaway - 0.5pt ew
The Phil Kirby trained CLEAN GETAWAY (best priced at 11/1) won this race last season off a mark of 90 and runs here off only a 1lb higher mark. The eight-year-old has form figures of 421111422 in handicaps at the track including when only beaten a length over this course and distance in October off a mark of 90.
Clean Getaway was a distant 2nd last time at Fakenham over a trip too far but will be suited by this return to Sedgefield and drop in trip and he should outrun his odds.
Tip 3: 14:34 Sedgefield - Blue Topaz - 1pt
The likes of La Zoubida, Roses All The Way and A Chara are all making their reapperances in this race which gives the advantage to BLUE TOPAZ (best priced at 2/1) who won a bumper here a month ago. The Fergal O’Brien trained mare was a comfortable 4 ¼ length winner that day shaping like this intermediate distance would suit well on her hurdling debut.
Blue Topaz had a wind operation prior to that run and is fitted with a first-time tongue tie but she looks the one to beat given her four runs in PTPs.
