Architect has two tips covering Sunday's ITV racing at Cheltenham.
14.55 Cheltenham
14.55 Cheltenham - LATENIGHTPASS
1 POINT EACH-WAY - 28/1
LATENIGHTPASS has unfairly been overlooked in the betting and has a stronger chance than his odds suggest. This veteran chaser has a fantastic record at this venue that reads figures of 142133.
He has placed at the Cheltenham Festival twice, including when second to Stumptown in the Cross Country Chase this year. He was the only horse able to go with the course specialist and that is a smart bit of form.
He returns off the exact same mark and has undergone wind surgery, which is interesting to say the least. With proven stamina over further and smart course form on soft ground in the bag, he merits consideration.
15.30 Cheltenham
15.30 Cheltenham - CASTLE CARROCK
1.5 POINTS EACH-WAY - 5 Places - 13/2
Alan King has a good record in the Greatwood Hurdle and Tom Cannon has opted to ride CASTLE CARROCK (NAP) instead of Helnwein, and that could be a statement of intent. The six-year-old looks the perfect candidate for this event.
He won his first couple of starts over hurdles, including when comfortably seeing off Diva Luna second time out, who went onto place at the Cheltenham Festival in a Grade 2 event and recently won on chase debut.
He then shaped well when third in a Grade 2 race at Kelso prior to finishing sixth in a Grade 1 at Aintree despite the ground not being soft enough for him in each of those.
I presume this race has been a long-term target given he’s been kept fresh since, and off an opening mark of 133, I really do believe he has the ingredients to make a major impact. Most firms are offering a generous five places, too.
