Thursday 27th November Selections

Ellerton - 1pt

Best odds available of 15/8 on bet365 while publishing.

ELLERTON  won on his stable debut for Joe Tizzard at the end of last season, having only had the horse for less than 72 days, and he is expected to follow up that success off a 7lb higher mark. The five-year-old was 0-10 over hurdles prior to that run, which was his first run over 2m4f.

Ellerton won by 1 ¾ lengths that day, justifying strong market support, and he is expected to continue the good form of the stable, which is currently operating at a 38% strike rate in the previous two weeks.

Rogue Identity - 1pt

Best odds of 5/1 available on Ladbrokes while publishing.

This looks like a competitive 0-60 handicap, but a chance is taken on ROGUE IDENTITY, who makes his stable debut for James Owen off a lowly opening mark of 60. The three-year-old was sent off 3/1 favourite for his debut at Southwell last year when beaten five lengths before two below-par efforts over 1m2f on his next two starts on turf.

Rogue Identity has been gelded since his last run in August, and he now returned to this mile trip on the AW for his handicap debut. He is well drawn in Stall 4 and looks the one to beat against more exposed rivals.

7:30PM Chelmsford

Bragbor - 0.5pt ew

Best odds of 11/2 available while publishing on William Hill.

Race To The Stars is respected on his handicap debut, but preference goes to BRAGBOR, who has won or placed on all six of his career starts. The four-year-old races for the first time away from Newcastle, but given his prominent running style, this switch to Chelmsford shouldn’t be a negative.

Bragbor finished a head 2nd last time off this mark of 89, and he gets to run here from 3lbs “well in” at the weights off the same mark. Ethan Tindall once again claims 7lbs, and he looks sure to run well with four places available.
