Two winners, including a 4-point NAP for Steve Ryder on Sunday. Check out his three racing tips for Monday here.
1:27 Kempton
American Flight
Flash Rascal was an impressive winner on his AW debut last time but preference instead goes to AMERICAN FLIGHT (best priced at 9/4) who is unbeaten since the application of a tongue tie. The George Boughey trained filly was well beaten on her two turf starts but showed promise in a Chelmsford novice race when 4th only beaten 2 ¼ lengths.
American Flight then finished 2nd on her handicap debut over 5f before winning her next two starts at Kempton and Newcastle over this trip of 6f with a tongue tie applied. She has only been raised 1lb her short head success last time but she showed a superb attitude that day and should make a bold hat-trick bid.
1:57 Kempton
Colourband
Both King’s Trail and Cockade are respected newcomers but a chance is taken on COLOURBAND (best priced at 11/2) who can hopefully put his experience to good use in this race. The Simon & Ed Crisford trained two-year-old has improved with each of his starts this season at Doncaster and Salisbury and now returns from a 60 day break having been gelded since his last run.
Colourband is out of Looktotherainbow who won on the AW so this switch to the AW should suit and given his prominent running style in his past races, I expect him to try to make all in this contest.
2:15 Ayr
Forest Blaze
The Mark Walford trained FOREST BLAZE (best priced at 3/1) won twice over this intermediate trip last season at Hexham and he should hold strong claims after an encouraging comeback at the same track. The six-year-old won last season off marks of 90 and 95 but found 3 miles too far on his return from 207 days off the track.
Forest Blaze now drops back to his preferred trip of 2m4f off a mark of 99 and is interestingly now fitted with first-time cheekpieces. He looks the one to beat under regular rider Jamie Hamilton.
