Dunboyne - 1pt

Best odds of 11/10 available on Ladbrokes while publishing.

DUNBOYNE (best priced at 11/10) has shown improved form since joining the Ian Donoghue stable, and the ten-year-old should prove hard to beat running in a Veterans’ Chase for the first time. He defied odds of 66/1 to win on his stable debut over hurdles before following up in the Ulster National over fences on his next start.

On his next three starts, he has run in the Irish Grand National, a Class 2 Cheltenham handicap at the October meeting, and the Grade 3 Troytown Handicap Chase. Dunboyne has run with credit on all three of those occasions, including when 3rd last time off a mark of 134, and he should prove hard to beat off a mark of 137 in this company.

Dapper Guest - 1pt

Best odds of 3/1 available at William Hill while publishing.

The George Margarson-trained DAPPER GUEST (best priced at 3/1) lost his unbeaten record on the AW last time at Southwell but was slowly away that day, and he gets to run here off the same mark. The three-year-old won by over three lengths on his first two starts on the AW at Southwell and Chelmsford before finishing 4th, beaten only 2 ¼ lengths last time off this mark of 90.

Hopefully, Dapper Guest gets a good start in this 0-90 handicap from Stall 7, and he looks the one to beat in this competitive contest.

Enemy - 0.5pt EW

Best odds of 15/2 available on BetMGM while publishing.

Sheradann beat ENEMY (best priced at 8/1) over this course and distance last time, but the latter gets a 1lb swing in the weights and should get this race run to suit. The Ian Williams trained eight-year-old was sent off 22/1 for that race, which was his first start on the AW since January 2024.

Enemy had won by a head when rated 107 on that occasion, so he was clearly well handicapped off a mark of 92 last time and remains so off only a 2lb higher mark in this race. I expect him to once again be held up under Billy Loughnane and can hopefully pounce late.
