Hobart had been running consistently well during the summer but would prefer better ground, while top-weight Eternal Echo was bought for 7,500 pounds in October and debuts for new connections.

KILLANEY KING is well suited by testing ground conditions and ran well in a recent course handicap. Lightly-enough raced, the selection has shown consistent form and while he finished behind exposed Petit King here last month, that was his first run for 206 days, so can progress. Give Him A Chance finished a useful second at Cheltenham last month and has to enter calculations judged on that form. San Hilario has shown promise in handicaps recently and can continue to improve.

JERIKO DE BAUNE is a soft-ground stayer who can follow up last month's success. A three-time winner, he won with a light weight at Clonmel in November and should again be competitive under the same 5lb claimer. Another three-time winner Themainintheboots scored here last month and, while hit with a 10lb hike, represents a yard which is on fire. Kazbek has been running well recently but encounters heavy ground for the first time.

MAY CALL YOU BACK has proved a great servant to connections winning five times (2 hurdle/3 chase) on a variety of ground conditions since joining Willie Mullins last year. The Walk In The Park mare has developed a good habit of generally not winning too far and remains on a competitive mark. Splashing Out comes here having won narrowly over a similar trip at Down Royal and has run well in the past on testing ground, while Battle Of Ridgeway is another to consider following his third at Cheltenham last month. In The Trenches has proved a frustrating sort to follow filling the runner-up spot on no less than 13 occasions.

CHEERFUL CHAP has gained all three wins over hurdles and has been generally consistent over fences at a variety of distances. He filled the runner-up spot behind Canal End in a valuable 2m7f handicap here back in March and was only headed in the closing stages when third over 3m1f at Cheltenham last month. Bridie's Beau handles soft ground well, winning twice over hurdles earlier this year and opened his chase account at Clonmel last time. Whateys Quest had Battle Of Mirbat seven lengths behind in fourth with Ney in fifth when placed over 2m5f at Cork latest and can confirm that form.

THE LOVELY MAN occupied the runner-up berth four times over hurdles for Colm Murphy including when staying on over 2m4f and, following a lengthy absence, made a bright start for Gavin Cromwell when third at Naas last month. He should benefit from that run and hopefully will stay this trip. Castle Field Boy won in good style on his penultimate start over this distance at Fairyhouse and it's probably best to put a line through his latest start at Cork when pulled up after making a bad mistake. Onethreefivenotout, Bigbraveboy and last year's winner Verdant Place are others to consider.

Gordon Elliott has dominated this race over the past decade with winners including Envoi Allen and Sir Gerhard and the Cullentra trainer saddles two interesting contenders. KEEP HIM COMPANY confirmed the promise of a point-to-point win earlier this year when leading home a 1-2-3 for the Elliott yard at Fairyhouse last month, and he gets the vote over Panjandrum, who made a winning debut at Clonmel. Passenger won a Cork bumper this summer that has worked out quite well, while surprise course winner Oh My Word and comfortable Thurles scorer Press The Button complete the quintet in what should prove an informative Listed event.
