Check out Steve Ryder's four racing tips for Monday's action.
12:32 Limerick
Tip 1: Chemdawg 7/1 (0.5pt ew)
When CHEMDAWG (best priced at 7/1) arrived in the parade ring last time with blinkers on rather than the declared cheekpieces, it was clear that connections had made an error. The Oliver McKiernan trained mare outran odds of 25/1 to finish 3rd in first-time blinkers at Thurles on her penultimate start before running with credit last time at Clonmel when 3rd in cheekpieces.
Chemdawg should be well suited by this step back up in trip to 2m3f as well as the blinkers being re-applied. She runs here off only a 1lb higher mark and she looks sure to run well with up to five places available.
1:00 Doncaster
Tip 2: Doctor Blue 6/5 (1pt)
This looks a competitive novice hurdle but preference goes to DOCTOR BLUE (best priced at 5/4) who has shown a good level of form in his five career starts to date. Connections pitched him straight into Grade 2 company on his hurdling debut when a short head behind the progressive Fortune De Mer before justifying short odds at Ascot last time when a comfortable six length winner.
On official ratings Doctor Blue may struggle to give away 4lbs to some talented rivals but he looks better than that mark and should prove hard to beat.
1:35 Doncaster
Tip 3: Fierce Warrior (1pt)
The Nicky Henderson trained FIERCE WARRIOR (best priced at 11/8) won here last time over fences and he can defy a 6lb rise in the weights. The six-year-old ran well to finish 2nd on his chasing debut at Sedgefield on his reappearance before winning by less than length here a month ago off a mark of 114.
The runner-up that day Red Delta has won comfortably on his next start off a 4lb higher mark to boost the form and Fierce Warrior runs here off only a 6lb higher mark. The slight drop back to in trip shouldn’t inconvenience him and he should follow up that recent success.
3:05 Leopardstown
Tip 4: Zillow (1pt)
ZILLOW (best priced at 5/2) is turning into a high class dual purpose operator who has won his previous three starts. The Willie Mullins trained five-year-old got off the mark over hurdles in September before winning at Dundalk a month later.
The form of his impressive 4 ¼ length success last time at Fairyhouse was boosted on Saturday when the runner-up Bowensonfire won at Leopardstown off a 3lb higher mark and Zillow should be able to defy a 9lb rise as a result.
