UK Horse Racing Tips: Newcastle

Luna Grace is the only runner here with placed form after finishing third at both Market Rasen and Doncaster last year, and she seems sure to make a bold attempt to put that experience to good use. She can go well, but a chance is taken on newcomer BROKEN VOW, Olly Murphy's Decorated Knight filly is a half-sister to four winners on the Flat and shouldn't be lacking in speed. One Dimensional showed some promise when fifth at Huntingdon and she could also get into the mix.

LUCKIE DEVIL showed promise when second in a bumper here on debut but failed to build on that when a distant fourth on his only other start at Kelso after getting loose before the race. He sports a first-time hood here for his hurdling bow and could make the most of the 7lb he gets from The Hatchet, a winner at Perth but only third at short odds at Ayr. Freddie Steady Go and Gaelic Rover are others to take seriously.

Port Station has got better with every start this season after a fourth and a third here were followed by a second at Carlisle, but he never really threatened the winner and another place seems likely. LEGENDARY LUKE stayed on strongly to win on his first start over hurdles at Ffos Las and looks to have a bright future with stamina seemingly his forte. Jamie Snowden's gelding may have too much power in the finish for Knomorediamonds, who steps up a furlong after being caught close home when second at Haydock.

Spadestep hung right in the closing stages when runner-up at Doncaster last month. That spoilt his chances of winning, while the lack of a recent run took its toll on WILLIE SHAKE HANDS in the same race. The latter still finished a gallant third on his first start since July and Sam England's charge is taken to reverse running with that pipe-opener under his belt. Market Rasen winner Freddy Robinson faces a tougher test, but makes more appeal than Double Digits of the remaining pair.

Catterick runner-up Wasthatok can race off an unchanged mark and make his presence felt once again. Aire Spray found only one too good over C&D last month and is not out of this either, but SARACEN BEAU is taken to edge a tight contest. Recently switched to Nicky Richards' yard, the unexposed seven-year-old finished a creditable second at Bangor on his chasing and handicap debut, and reverts to the smaller obstacles with every chance off his current mark.

Although thwarted in his hat-trick bid when finishing a close-up second at Haydock last month, FAT HARRY still looks capable of better. That looked a strong race for the grade with the third subsequently scoring, and a 6lb higher mark for the nine-year-old may be surmountable. The Jad Factor made a winning return at Wetherby 28 days ago and is feared most, ahead of fellow last-time-out winner Trac.

Having regained the winning thread at Musselburgh 26 days ago, YOU DID ticks plenty of the right boxes. That was the six-year-old's second victory in three outings and this looks a suitable opportunity for further glory. Princesse Milania has finished third on her last two starts in class 4 company and isn't taken lightly dropping in grade. Jamesieconn and Guernesey are other in-form rivals to consider.
