Best odds at time of publishing: 10/1 (5 places)
A few eye-catching runs to suggest he could now strike under rules and with five places up for grabs, he’s worth an each-way play.
2:48 PUNCHESTOWN – KIMI DE MAI
1:10 LINGFIELD – NUNC EST BIBENDUM
(2pt DOUBLE)
Best odds at time of publishing: Double at 1.27/1
KIMI DE MAI is a Flat winner in France and, in three runs for Willie Mullins, has shown enough to suggest her turn may be near. She was third on debut behind Sixandahalf, a subsequent Cheltenham Festival runner-up, in the same race the selection contested on her second start.
That came in a Grade 2 at the Festival, where experience told. Last time out she returned from a break, travelled well and finished fifth of 18, with the front two pulling clear and looking classy — the runner-up was Bambino Fever, the Champion Bumper winner (who runs on this card).
The third home that day, who finished just ahead of the selection, came out and won readily last week, lending strength to the form. She should strip fitter for that run and may come into her own now on just her fourth start over hurdles and second run of the season.
NUNC EST BIBENDUM skated in last time out and the trip appears to have revitalised this course-and-distance mare. With only three rivals to contend with, she looks solid to go in again just nine days after her latest success.
