This looks a competitive 0-60 handicap but a chance is taken on AMBER HONEY (best priced at 9/1) who drops into this grade for the first time since a course and distance victory in November. The Ed Dunlop trained four-year-old has a good record at this track with a victory and 3rd placed finish over an inadequate trip of 7f.

Amber Honey won off a mark of 57 by 2 ½ lengths before finishing 3rd beaten two lengths over 7f under a 6lb penalty six days later. She has been running with credit at other tracks since in higher grades but is worth backing back at Southwell in this 0-60 handicap with a first time visor replacing her usual blinkers.

The veteran ELIGIBLE (best priced at 4/1) has won both of his starts following a 155 day break but still remains only 1lb higher than his career high winning mark. The Michael & David Easterby trained gelding won over this course and distance off a mark of 69 in December but winning comfortably by 2 ¾ lengths at Newcastle over a mile last time.

Eligible won off a mark of 79 at this track in January 2024 so this mark of 80 shouldn’t prove beyond this thriving ten-year-old and he looks sure to be involved in the finish.
