Tip 1: CALIFET EN VOL

1pt WIN @ 4/1

A classy hurdler who won a Listed contest prior to running sixth in a Grade 1 at Aintree when sent off favourite.

He had finished second in a deep race behind Turners winner The New Lion, with in behind recent winners Electric Mason and French Ship.

On debut he had won as he liked, and he looked a nice type coming into this division, but experience was needed.

He moves into handicaps after two fair displays against classy types, and althought top weight, this looks weaker than those course and distance runs.

Tip 2: JAGWAR

(1.5pt WIN @ 13/8)

Simply put, Jagwar could easily outclass these if putting best foot forward.

Hasn’t always been the case, but returned in the December Gold Cup with a staying on third, with the second winning since, Vincenzo.

He bolted up over the distance at the Festival here, and it’s his to lose.

Tip 3: J’ARRIVE DE L’EST

(1pt WIN @ 9/4)

He ran a huge race when well-backed last time out on this unique track behind Final Orders last time out, but can reverse the form.

He was advised as one of my ante-post bets for the big version of this race in March, so I’m hoping he can win this on route to a stab at the Cross Country back at the Festival. (*Still 12/1 available)

Tip 4: MIGHTY BANDIT

(2pt WIN @ 11/8)

Second on Chase debut behind Grade 2 winne Mambonumberfive, ahead of subsequent winners.

Last time out on second Chase start he won well where it mattered in beating two subsequent winners.

And, up five pounds he has every chance of going in again.

Tip 5: IMPOSE TOI

(1.5pt WIN @ 5/6)

Another of my Cheltenham Festival team is made up partly with Impose Toi for the Stayers.

Advised along with the other JP McManus owned Honest Policy at bigger prices, Impose Toi has shown rapid progression this season, bagging a Grade 1 last time out.

He will have to win this to justify his current price for the race, but there is plenty who will need to make the jump to his level, and with Strong Leader not having a liking to Cheltenham quite the same, he’s taken to beat his old rival once again on route to a Stayers Hurdle bid.
