Ryder backs a progressive seven-year-old at Naas with a strong each-way shout.

It has been well documented that Gavin Cromwell has been having a quieter season but BRIDIE’S BEAU (best priced at 7/1) is a horse who has still managed to run consistently well. The stable had a treble at Gowran on Thursday including a narrow victory in the Thyestes Chase although his three runners yesterday all finished well beaten.
Bridie’s Beau won at Clonmel in December off a mark of 110 before finishing a head 2nd at Navan a fortnight later off a mark of 119. The handicapper has raised him a further 3lbs for that effort which is fair given the front three pulled 7 ½ lengths clear of the fourth. The winner has disappointed since but that was too bad to be true and Bridie’s Beau looks a progressive seven-year-old open to improvement. He looks sure to run well with four places widely available.
