UK Horse Racing Tips: Wetherby

KAYDENCE failed to get competitive in a Listed bumper at Huntingdon but there were some decent prospects in that race and the Olly Murphy-trained mare has to be of interest on her hurdling debut. Queenie St Clair, a surprise winner over timber at Wincanton on Boxing Day, is another appealing option on just her second start for the Nick Scholfield yard. The class-dropping Bittalemon and hurdling debutant Midnight Venture also command attention.

Athair Mor has been expensive to follow but in truth he hasn't done much wrong other than find one too good in each of his last three outings. He should go well again but might have to play second fiddle if first-time cheekpieces help BANK ON FRANK build on what was a solid effort when he rallied to dead-heat for second at Fontwell last time out. Galidam and Copper Cove are the pick of the rest.

This appears to be a good opportunity for JUST GOLDEN to notch a first win over hurdles. Denied by only a neck at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, the son of Flemensfirth could be tough to overhaul with a tongue-tie added for this drop in class. Solid Performer and Nosy Neighbour are the pick of the rest with hurdles experience and can fight it out for second place.

Twoshotsoftequila arrives in search of a hat-trick but his most recent success came in March 2024 and so PRINCE ZALTAR could be a safer bet. Dan Skelton's charge hasn't quite kicked on having made a winning stable debut over hurdles in September, but neither of his chasing efforts have been without promise and he can get back on track now dropped in trip. Trac and Big City Roller are others to consider.
