Madajovy (1pt)

Best price 4/1 at the time of publishing.

The combination of a further step up in trip and the application of first-time cheekpieces can result in MADAJOVY (best priced at 4/1) going one better than on his handicap debut last time. The Dan Skelton trained six-year-old was sent off only 8/13 on his hurdling debut last season having shown good promise in bumpers. He was then down the field on his next three starts when sent off 50/1, 22/1 and 14/1 before running well to finish 2nd on his handicap debut last time at Warwick.

Madajovy made stylish headway that day but was hampered approaching the final hurdle and made a mistake as a result. He was beaten four lengths at the finish and despite a 4lb rise from the handicapper, he should be able to get off the mark in this contest.

Little Wren (1pt)

Best price 4/1 at the time of publishing.

LITTLE WREN (best priced at 4/1) dominated from the front in first-time cheekpieces at Fakenham last time and she looks well treated off only a 7lb higher mark. The Dan Skelton trained mare is well bred being by Walk In The Park and was well fancied on her two starts in handicap hurdles when she faded late on.

Under a positive ride from Tristan Durrell in first-time cheekpieces last time, she thrived on her chasing debut and attacked all of her fences that day. This step back up in trip is a slight question mark if those tactics are repeated but she looks the one to beat.
