This brings in PANDA BOY.

Who, has qualified with two easy victories in Hunter Chases.

The first beating 12 rivals by nine lengths, including Lifetime Ambition, a solid yardstick.

Then last time out he has beat Hunters Yarn and Ryhill, again another two solid yardsticks, and done it with ease going away.

He fits the typical age bracket being a “10 year old”, but, he’s actually still nine until April 26th.

He ticks the box of staying the trip, also.

He has only been racing for four years, and in the first year beat 26 rivals over three miles over Christmas of that year, and followed up with an easy three mile chase win the following season.

He was then done in a 28 runner contest by the narrowest of margins in the big Paddy Power Chase.

He went on to run in the Irish National when staying on fifth (3mile-5furlongs) that was behind the Aintree Grand National hero, I Am Maximus, recently runner-up in a Grade 1 at Christmas.

Since then Panda Boy has been runner-up in another Paddy Power, beat two lengths in big field Listed hurdle over three miles, and sent off just 11/1 for the Aintree Grand National, won by I Am Maximus.

He has ran third in a Listed Chase, unseated in the Irish National behind Haiti Couleurs, and ran two lengths third in a point-to-point, all before winning his two Hunter Chases with ease.

The class is there, the trip holds no fears, he is qualified with ease, and his age fits any trends.

He has never been to Cheltenham, but his record going left handed is solid, and his trainer is a Grade 1 winner at the Festival, so it should hold no fears.

Plenty to like in a wide-open race, but he takes the eye with a touch of class about him.
