Kingcormac (0.5pt ew)

Best price 9/2 at the time of publishing.

The Joe Tickle trained KINGCORMAC (best priced at 5/1) has a superb record at this track with form figures of 121 including when runner-up in this race last season. The ten-year-old has only won twice in his 15 race career with both coming over this course and distance by six lengths off marks of 85 and 84.

That latest victory came in December before slightly disappointing dropped back in trip at Exeter last time. He now runs here off a mark of 89 and should run well back on testing ground that he has handled previously.

El Bodon (1pt)

Best price 3/1 at the time of publishing.

This looks a competitive 0-100 handicap but preference goes to EL BODON (best priced at 3/1) who won a 0-105 handicap over this course and distance last time. The Jane Chapple-Hyam trained five-year-old was returning from a 109 day break when making it 2/2 on the AW in his career.

The handicapper has raised El Bodon 6lbs for his comfortable 1 ¼ length success over Coul Angel who has run well on his next two starts off higher marks. Rossa Ryan, who was deputising on board last time, retains the ride and he looks the one to beat.

Portoro (1pt)

Best price 5/2 at the time of publishing.

It was a frustrating watch for backers of PORTORO (best priced at 9/4) last time when he was denied a clear run on two occasions down the straight. The Martin Dunne trained six-year-old was given too much to do by a 7lb claimer when 2nd beaten ½ length on his penultimate start before finishing an unlucky 5th here last time.

Portoro runs here off only a 1lb higher mark and he should get back to winning ways if getting more luck in this race. Rossa Ryan will no doubt drop in from Stall 8 but should get a clearer passage with only eight other runners.
