LIGHTNINGUPOURDAYS - 1 POINT EACH-WAY - 4 places
Best price 4/1 at the time of publishing.
An extremely competitive handicap but I really like the claims of LIGHTNINGUPOURDAYS (best price 6/1), whose form is working out very well and he must be well handicapped off 119.
He’s only won one of his four starts over timber to date but his latest third at Hereford looks strong given the first and second have emerged as subsequent winners.
He was right behind both of them in that formerly mentioned event too, so off a low weight with more to offer, the seven-year-old makes plenty of each-way sense.

UBATUBA - 1 POINT WIN
Best price 9/2 at the time of publishing.
UBATUBA (best price 5/1) is my pick for the Grade 2 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle. Dan Skelton seems like he has a serious weapon on his hands judged on how easily he has won both of his starts and can take the step up in grade in his stride.
The six-year-old has won both events in second gear by a combined 25 lengths and could be even more effective over this longer distance. The fact he’s proven under these conditions as well is a major bonus.

JOYEUX MACHIN - 1 POINT WIN
Best Price 11/2 at the time of publishing.
I’m adamant the Dan Skelton-trained JOYEUX MACHIN (best price 7/2) would have bolted up in the Great Yorkshire Chase last time out without mishap when in the clear and going well and is fancied to gain revenge granted a clear round.
The nine-year-old has surprisingly been left on the same mark and ran really well to finish second in a quality handicap hurdle event off this mark at this meeting last year. With track, trip and conditions to suit, I am hoping this is the day he can shine.
