QUEBECOIS was out of his depth in a Grade 2 at Sandown, but that performance is sandwiched between a couple of promising seconds. The latest saw him denied by the narrowest of margins on Trials Day at Cheltenham and he can boost his confidence before a potential return there next month. Personal Ambition has lost his way, but the application of blinkers could help him recapture the form that saw him claim Grade 2 glory as a novice hurdler. Old Cowboy struck over C&D before a Kempton fall, but concedes weight to higher-rated opponents.
Prediction : 1st Quebecois 2nd Personal Ambition 3rd Old Cowboy

TALAKAN has taken well to jumping and built on his Ascot third when touched off at Ludlow. The Toby Lawes-trained juvenile receives weight all round and can continue his forward momentum. Lancelot Allen has been off since beating just one home in the Champion Bumper, but his Bangor defeat of a now 118-rated hurdler makes him of interest on his return. Galashiels and Fouroneohfever are decent Flat recruits who are getting the hang of hurdling, while Giantsgrave is much better than he showed at Ffos Las.
Prediction : 1st Talakan 2nd Lancelot Allen 3rd Galashiels

SWINDON VILLAGE accounted for a subsequent winner at Leicester and then acquitted himself well behind two smart prospects at Windsor. Charlie Longsdon's inmate has been given a couple of Cheltenham engagements and while that may be flying too high at present, he is promising. Bobby's Nelson is in the Turners at the Festival and is the logical danger following his deserved breakthrough at Ffos Las. Boultydoolin cost 95,000 pounds after winning an Irish point-to-point and has been given a speculative Albert Bartlett entry.
Prediction : 1st Swindon Village 2nd Bobbys Nelson 3rd Boultydoolin

The application of cheekpieces (retained) worked the oracle for MAJOR FORTUNE at Wincanton and he is fancied to repeat the dose from 5lb higher. Brave Kingdom made a bold bid from the front at Taunton and is more than capable of another big run. Havaila finished third at Windsor to Neo King, who went on to post a fine effort in the Grand National Trial at Haydock. With that in mind, he could be the biggest threat.
Prediction : 1st Major Fortune 2nd Havaila 3rd Brave Kingdom

It was much more like it from De Kingpin when third here last month and it's possible that a drop in trip will play to his strengths, but GLANCE OF GLORY gets the vote. Martin Keighley's charge didn't jump well at Aintree but, to his credit, he was still in contention two from home. Both of his wins have come at this sort of trip and although there are some doubts regarding testing ground, he won't be far away if handling it. Robber's Bridge is another to consider.
Prediction : 1st Glance Of Glory 2nd De Kingpin 3rd Robbers Bridge

HARMONY HEIGHTS has been consistent since switching to hurdles and a maiden triumph looks sure to come sooner rather than later. Fergal O'Brien's mare advertised her claims with a creditable second at Lingfield and can outstay her rivals in the newly-applied cheekpieces. Katie's Melody was no match for a couple of decent types at Wincanton, but moves into handicaps with heaps of potential. Kosasiempre is worth a second look back over timber.
Prediction : 1st Harmony Heights 2nd Katies Melody 3rd Kosasiempre
