Steve Ryder starts the week with three tips from Monday's racing.
3:00 Ayr
Tommy Combats - (1pt)
Best price 7/4 at the time of publishing.
The Martin Todhunter trained TOMMY COMBATS (best priced at 7/4) has shown improved form this season and the progressive seven-year-old can follow up his recent course success. The gelding has form figures of 2221 at this track over fences including winning over 2m½f last time by 3 ¼ lengths.
The handicapper has raised Tommy Combats 6lbs for that success where he stayed on strongly at the finish giving the impression that he could prove better over this further distance. He still made a couple of jumping errors during the race so if that could improve then he should prove hard to beat.

3:15 Plumpton
Alto Alto 6/4 (1pt)
ALTO ALTO (best priced at 6/4) has shown all of his best form at this track and he runs here off only a 1lb higher mark than his narrow defeat last time. The Chris Gordon trained nine-year-old was bidding to win the same race for a second season in a row when pulling 29 lengths clear of third last time.
Kitsilano was an easy winner following a wind operation last time but now races here off a 7lb higher mark and preference goes to Alto Alto who should hold strong claims off top weight.
5:30 Wolverhampton
City Queen - (1pt)
Best price 5/4 at the time of publishing.
Conor Planas has won on all three of his rides for Charlie Appleby in his career and CITY QUEEN (best priced at 6/5) should be able to extend that winning sequence. The daughter of Dubawi shaped with a great deal of promise when 5th beaten 5 lengths on her debut at Newmarket in August and the form of that contest has worked out well.
The winner Inis Mor finished 2nd in France on her next start and is now rated 101 and both the 3rd and 4th have won since. Summer Heat sets the standard with an official rating of 73 but has to concede over a stone to her younger rivals and it would be a surprise if City Queen was beaten.
