Madajovy 6/1 (1pt)

Best price 6/1 at the time of publishing.

Having backed MADAJOVY (best priced at 6/1) on his previous two starts, it feels somewhat frustrating to be backing him off a higher mark in this race. However, these conditions should be ideal for the Dan Skelton trained six-year-old and he looks the one to beat. The gelding was a smart bumper horse who was sent off only 8/13 for his hurdling debut last year. He was given three low key runs to get an opening mark of 98 where he finished 2nd at Warwick over 2m3f.

Madajovy travelled well in first-time cheekpieces on his next start when upped in trip to 3m1f when he appeared a non-stayer at the trip. Back down slightly in trip to 2m5½f here, he should run well off an only a 2lb higher mark than last time.

Ice Jet (1pt)

Best price 9/2 at the time pf publishing.

Hopefully it will be a good 20 minutes for the Dan Skelton stable as ICE JET (best priced at 9/2) is expected to put in a career best performance on his handicap debut. The four-year-old failed to win on the flat but ended last season rated 65 for John O’Donoghue.

Ice Jet finished well beaten on his first three starts over hurdles when beaten 37, 42 and 29 lengths but as a result has been given a lowly opening mark of 86. He has had a wind operation since his last run 121 days ago and could make a mockery of his opening mark.
