Hardy’s Hero (0.5pt ew)

Best price 9/1 at the time of publishing.

William Haggas and Tom Marquand won both divisions of this race last season with Power Fizz and Art Market and they combine with HARDY’S HERO (best priced at 9/1) this year. The three-year-old won twice last season at Haydock and Carlisle before finishing 5th on his handicap debut off a mark of 28 on his final start last season.

Hardy’s Hero has been gelded since that run and looks the type to progress this year with both of his half siblings Improvista and Moon Sniper doing the same. It seems noteworthy he starts off in this race and he looks a good each way selection in an open race.

Regal Envoy (0.5pt ew)

Best price 9/2 at the time of publishing.

Oisin Murphy has a good record on REGAL ENVOY (best priced at 9/2) with 4 wins from 7 rides so he looks a notable booking on last year’s winner. The William Knight trained gelding did have the benefit of a recent run last year but he returns well handicapped off a mark of 86 this year. His victory came off a mark of 84 but he won twice subsequently off marks of 88 and 91.

Regal Envoy can be excused his AW runs at the end of last season and he should run well in a race which has no doubt been a long term target as a starting point.

Profit Street (1pt)

Best price 2/1 at the time of publishing.

Global Warning won for us last time over this course and distance but that was a Class 6 0-55 handicap and he now steps up in grade to this Class 5 0-70 handicap off a 4lb higher mark. Preference instead goes to PROFIT STREET (best priced at 2/1) who has been running consistently well in 2026. His form figures are 334121123 in that time with three of those victories coming over this course and distance.

Profit Street was 3rd beaten 1 ½ lengths last time off a 1lb lower mark but that was over 6f and he is better suited by this 7f trip. Luke Morris is once again on board and he should prove hard to beat.
