Last year’s winner BIRKENHEAD (best priced at 6/1) has a good overall record at Catterick with form figures of 15312131534 and he should run well back down to the same mark. The Paul Midgley trained nine-year-old won this race by a length off a mark of 64 last season and has finally dropped back down to the same mark for the first time since. In that time he has finished 2nd on three occasions but needs to bounce back having bled last time at Southwell.
The return to Catterick, where he has won four times in his career, will suit Birkenhead and he looks sure to run well with one bookmaker offering four places on the race.

Connections of KING ROLY (best priced at 5/1) have declared him for both this 0-130 handicap and the 0-150 handicap tomorrow but he will surely take his chance in this easier contest off top weight. The Mickey Bowen trained seven-year-old finished 2nd at this meeting last season over hurdles but showed improved form over fences winning three of his six chase starts and finishing 2nd in another.
King Roly has form figures of 12121 at this track so this meeting will have no doubt been the target following a 124-day break. James Bowen is back on board which is a positive and he should be involved in the finish.
