This is a cracking renewal and FIELD OF GOLD can book his ticket to Newbury and the Lockinge Stakes with a win. John and Thady Gosden's charge could only manage fifth behind Cicero's Gift in the QEII at Ascot but just wasn't himself that day and is better judged on previous form which includes a Classic win at the Curragh and a sparkling performance at Royal Ascot in the St James's Palace. Zeus Olympios is unbeaten and had Opera Ballo's measure in the Joel Stakes at Newmarket last September. Charlie Appleby's subsequent Jebel Hatta winner franked that form in Dubai and is another expected to go well, along with City Of York Stakes winner Never So Brave.

That close-up second to stable companion Hawk Mountain is the best form on offer here and he commands the utmost respect. Raaheeb won readily on his Ascot debut and is noted, while Nottingham winner Wise Prince boasts a similar profile and joins Al Zanati on the shortlist.
