DWINDLING FUNDS was a fine moneyspinner last year, mainly at Ayr, but goes well at this venue too and found only one too strong on his comeback here. Jim Goldie's gelding remains on the same rating and can take full advantage of the drop back to a mile. Stablemate Ayr Poet also enjoyed a good 2025, although he doesn't have the benefit of a recent run. Harry The Rogue almost sprung a Newcastle surprise, with Eazy On The Eye also making the frame on that card, but Swift Salian is feared most following his Pontefract near-miss.
Prediction : 1st Dwindling Funds 2nd Swift Salian 3rd Harry The Rogue

DONNA RUMMA didn't get the rub of the green on her Beverley debut and while she wouldn't have troubled the impressive winner, she certainly would have finished closer. In the end, she did well to claim the silver medal and natural improvement may be all that's required. Super Alpha offered encouragement when making the frame over C&D, and Bath runner-up Seed Ya Later should be winning races before too long. Tamam Star is expected to hit the ground running and is the pick of the newcomers.
Prediction : 1st Donna Rumma 2nd Tamam Star 3rd Super Alpha

Salaria may have spoiled her chance before the race at Pontefract and there will be plenty who keep the faith. Even so, she is passed over in favour of GLORIOUS KITTY, who met traffic before running on into second at Beverley and can gain compensation. Naturalia also hit the crossbar on her comeback, although the winner did nothing for the form earlier in the week. Epidavros and Sovereign Bright are a couple more to consider.
Prediction : 1st Glorious Kitty 2nd Salaria 3rd Epidavros

Smart hurdler HAMLET'S NIGHT capitalised on his handy Flat mark when successful at Kempton in February, since when he has been beaten twice back over obstacles. There is more room for manoeuvre with his rating in this sphere, though, and he is preferred to Fast Fred, who confirmed the promise of his comeback second at Newcastle by going one better over C&D. Rising Sky also arrives in winning form, although she must compete from out of the handicap. Eroico is interesting on her first appearance for Martin Todhunter.
Prediction : 1st Hamlets Night 2nd Fast Fred 3rd Eroico

Aisling Oscar has been an absolute credit to his connections as he continues to hold his form well after eight wins on the bounce during the winter months. It will be interesting to see if he can translate that kind of form to grass, but MASTER RICHARD makes the most appeal. A winner on his last turf outing at Thirsk in September, he went close to making a successful start for his new handler at Newcastle and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go one better. Others to consider include Salam Dubawi, who makes his debut for Jim Goldie, and Benacre.
Prediction : 1st Master Richard 2nd Aisling Oscar 3rd Salam Dubawi

ALTHER WALDEN ran out an impressive winner on his handicap bow at Newcastle when very much giving the impression that he would relish a stiffer test of stamina and a 6lb rise doesn't appear to be insurmountable. Senor Cortez is likely to appreciate the return to turf after running creditably on yard debut at Lingfield and can reverse the form with the winner St Faz. Talismans Time found the Melrose too much and the ease in grade gives him every chance of bouncing back on his first run since.
Prediction : 1st Alther Walden 2nd Senor Cortez 3rd Talismans Time

Connections choose to strike while the iron is hot with I'M NEXT following his Beverley success on Thursday and that approach may well be rewarded. The four-year-old seems to have improved and appears capable of defying a 5lb penalty. Montezuma justified favouritism over C&D a fortnight ago and is likely to be in the mix, despite a 7lb rise. Jer Batt should find this ease in grade to his liking, while Mon Na Slieve and Albegone are capable of a decent showing.
Prediction : 1st Im Next 2nd Montezuma 3rd Jer Batt
