Tip 1: My Love Is King - 1pt

Best odds of 10/3 at PricedUp while publishing.

On official ratings, MY LOVE IS KING (best priced at 10/3) has 14lbs to find with Poseidon’s Warrior but that rival had the opportunity to record that figure when 2nd in a listed race last time. The John & Thady Gosden trained colt made a winning debut at Newcastle at the end of last season when sent off a well supported 4/6 chance before catching the eye on his reappearance when finishing a neck 2nd at Newbury despite a starting price of 16/1.

My Love Is King looked in need of the run that day a fortnight ago and he only failed to run down a more experienced rival trained by William Haggas. Oisin Murphy now takes on board and he is expected to prove a big danger to the odds-on favourite.

Tip 2: Wise Approach - 1pt

Best odds of 6/5 at Unibet while publishing.

Charlie Appleby and William Buick combined to this Group 3 contest with Blue Point back in 2017 and they look to hold strong claims with WISE APPROACH (best priced at 6/5) this year. The three-year-old won over 5f here on his debut before finishing runner-up behind Charles Darwin in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He was an impressive four length winner of a listed race at Newbury before a narrow defeat in the Prix Morny behind 1000 Guineas and 2000 Guineas contenders Venetian Sun and Gstaad.

Wise Approach ended last season with an impressive victory in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes beating the reopposing Brussels (for Aidan O’Brien whose horses are 0-6 in the UK this year) despite being badly hampered at the start. He is a narrow 2nd favourite for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and can enhance his claims with a victory in this race.

Tip 3: So Regal - 1pt

Best odds available of 10/11 at Unibet while publishing.

The John & Thady Gosden trained three-year-olds have started the season in superb form on turf operating at a 39% strike rate on turf (12-31) with one of those winners being SO REGAL (best priced at 10/11). The well bred filly is by Kingman out of Grade 1 winner Queen’s Trust so it would have come as a slight surprise to see her narrowly beaten on her debut at Chelmsford when sent off 4/7.

So Regal won at Newmarket on her reappearance in a maiden under Ryan Moore despite not appearing to handle the track on the Rowley Mile and she should be much better suited by this conventional track. She has to concede 6lbs to the talented Crownright but she should get a good position from Stall 6 to avoid a troubled passage and she is expected to win this before stepping up in class.
