NOELAN STAR impressed in winning both his previous starts and another bold showing is fully expected. He is already rated 92 so the son of Starspangledbanner sets a high standard. My Ballyquinn was a beaten short-priced favourite at Thirsk, but that was only his second start and he might have more to offer. Given Harmonics and Beau Chevalier both need to improve, Godolphin newcomer Mountain Cat won't need to be anything special to be the best alternative.

LION O just about captures the imagination the most. He's a half-brother to six winners and represents a yard with a respectable record with juveniles. However, the betting is likely to be helpful given the lack of previous racecourse experience. Rocket Boots and Taseem should be wiser after their debut runs, although Note To Self, Romanza and Crown Of Ivy have attractive pedigrees and merit closer inspection based on potential.

An official rating of 88 seems workable on the evidence of her latest victory at Southwell and debuting on turf shouldn't hold any fears. Akkadian Thunder returned with a good second in a 19-runner affair over C&D and he's feared most, ahead of the class-dropping Rousing Encore.

Mafting was well found in the market when making a winning seasonal debut at Redcar recently and merits respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 4lb rise demands something close to a career best from the four-year-old and SIXPACK may prove too strong. James Owen's inmate arrives on the back of a third-placed reappearance at Musselburgh and Mason Paetel's 5lb claim might be decisive. Saratoga Gold is the pick of the remainder.

In a race with a distinct lack of winning form it could pay to side with TRUCIAL PEARL, whose head second at Chelmsford in March over this trip off the same mark stands out. Tekitoff was only beaten a half-length when third in a better race at Southwell last month and looks the biggest danger, while Too Darn Spicy is yet to live up to her pedigree but could surprise making her handicap debut.

Lumenbourg has won twice over C&D and if he is ready to go on his first appearance since October, he could mount a challenge. Maxi Boy is well handicapped at his best having won off 5lb higher at Newcastle in October 2024, but ZUBARU could be the one. Third at Lingfield on his first start in seven months and racing off 1lb lower here, this may be his best chance yet to get a victory on the board.
