Four-year-olds Blue Rc and City Of Poets both merit consideration and don't rule out Bellarchi, who goes in search of a hat-trick following a brace of Musselburgh wins.

The four-year-old scored with enough in hand to suggest that a 4lb higher mark shouldn't halt his progress and he's taken to repel Shipshape. Bernard Llewellyn's Southwell scorer arrives here at the top of his game and another bold bid is forecast, while Ashdown Forest is the pick of the remainder.

Kosometsuke was given a positive ride when clinging on over 7f here last month and a 2lb nudge up the ratings shouldn't prevent another good account. Although the four-year-old is entitled to build on that seasonal/stable bow, this drop in distance isn't sure to suit. With that in mind, it could be worth chancing KATS BOB, who looked to be drawn on the wrong side when ninth at Ripon and his previous close-up second at Catterick suggests there is a race in him. Aberama Gold completes the shortlist.

Elegant Erin is burdened with top weight, although she has won and run well in better races and if she bounces back to her best, she would be a player. WHEELS OF FIRE failed to see out the six furlongs at Newbury, but he may be better judged on an easy Musselburgh success over this trip and Richard Hannon's gelding is worth another chance. C&D winners American Bay and Equity Law are others to consider.
