THE PUBLICAN'S SON can get off the mark at the fifth attempt. Runner-up on his latest start at Cork last month, the Joseph O'Brien-trained colt sets a strong standard with an official rating of 100. Having had his first three starts in black type races, the son of Beau Liam had his sights lowered last time and this looks a nice opportunity to get his head in front. Second on his introduction at Naas last September, the Michael O'Callaghan-trained Bamako Beach looks the main danger. Sure to be all the better for that initial experience, the Sands Of Mali colt shouldn't be far away. Placed on his final two starts last term, Starred is another with leading claims.
Prediction : 1st The Publicans Son 2nd Bamako Beach 3rd Starred

First-time cheekpieces should see the Dermot Weld-trained KALIR get off the mark here. Third on his most recent outing at Dundalk last month, the Night Of Thunder colt should come on from the run. Having shown promise on a couple of occasions last term, he has every chance of registering a first success. Satoyama ran better than the bare result suggests on his debut here last month, staying on well after missing the break. Western Bandit showed little on his debut at this track but shaped much better when keeping on well from off the pace to finish fifth at Limerick recently. A reproduction of that latter effort would make the four-year-old a strong contender.
Prediction : 1st Kalir 2nd Satoyama 3rd Western Bandit

Having made a winning start to her career in Ireland when scoring at Cork last month, MOODY can follow up. The Paddy Twomey-trained filly was sent off the outsider of two stable runners on that occasion, so she was clearly expected to need the run. Given the manner in which she disposed of some decent rivals, it would be no surprise to see the Night Of Thunder filly take another step forward here. Vinnie Roe Stakes winner Floresta finished fifth in a Group 2 race at Doncaster subsequently but was far from disgraced on that occasion. She will appreciate this drop in class. Snapretend was behind the selection last time but is entitled to come on from that race.
Prediction : 1st Moody 2nd Floresta 3rd Snapretend

FAIYUM sets the standard here and should be good enough to concede weight to these rivals. The daughter of Frankel was beaten at a short price on her return at the Curragh but stayed on nicely then over an inadequate mile. Stepping back up in trip will suit now and any rain that falls will be a help. Joseph O'Brien saddles three with Sindria looking like the pick on jockey bookings. The Kodiac filly was a good winner on her return here last month and appears to be progressive. She still has a nice bit to find with the selection though. Second top rated is her stablemate Lemsairbat, who has already had two solid runs in stakes company this term.
Prediction : 1st Faiyum 2nd Sindria 3rd Lemsairbat

ALMEIYDA ran a nice race when fourth on her second outing last term in a strong Leopardstown maiden and may be able to make a winning return. The Zarak filly was behind a smart type in Amelia Earhart and that form has worked out well. The runner-up Chasing Paradise has won this season and has also run well in stakes company. Her biggest danger is probably among the newcomers. Paddy Twomey saddles Dark Lucinda. Her grand-dam was a Group 3 winning sister to Gustav Klimt. Joseph O'Brien's Vauntingly is another to note. The Night Of Thunder filly's dam is a half-sister to top sprinter Kingsgate Native and to the dam of champion mare Via Sistina.
Prediction : 1st Almeiyda 2nd Dark Lucinda 3rd Vauntingly

FEMME BEAUTY ran well here last month and the Ghaiyyath filly may be able to go a couple of places better now. She stayed on well when third to Clonbun in a claimer and looks up to winning at this level. Beau Army ran well on the all-weather last time and has a big chance with Reese Holohan claiming a valuable 7lb. No Bother Aoife didn't run too badly in maiden company at Dundalk and is one to note on her handicap debut.
Prediction : 1st Femme Beauty 2nd Beau Army 3rd No Bother Aoife

KITTY BEAR may be able to follow up on her victory here 13 days ago. The Kodi Bear filly was a cosy winner that day when quickening up to lead inside the final furlong. She really ran through the line well, so stepping back up to a mile shouldn't be an issue. Majestic King chased her home and is entitled to get a bit closer on the revised terms. Famous Enough is noted too.
Prediction : 1st Kitty Bear 2nd Majestic King 3rd Famous Enough
