2:35 Chester
Amelia Earhart 5/2 (1pt)
Best price 5/2 at the time of publishing.
I’m The One made an impressive winning debut at Newbury last month but at the prices I am willing to take a chance on AMELIA EARHART (best priced at 5/2) who is looking to provide Aidan O’Brien with a record extending tenth win in the race. The daughter of Camelot has been sent off favourite for all of her five career starts and despite only winning one of those, she is clearly a very talented filly.
Amelia Earhart is bred to appreciate this step up in trip being a full sister to Cleveland who won the Chester Cup and the dam Venus De Milo never ran over a distance shorter than 1m2f in her career and was a Group 3 winner over 1m4f. Connections fit her with a hood and blinkers combination for the first time which makes me hope she will be given a positive ride under Ryan Moore and I expect her to make a winning reappearance.
6:00 Kempton
Port Noir (1pt)
Best price 7/2 at the time of publishing.
The Robert Stephens trained PORT NOIR (best priced at 7/2) is unbeaten over a mile at Kempton in her career and arrives following a narrow defeat at Wolverhampton last month. The nine-year-old has won four times in 2026 off marks of 46, 44, 51 and 53 and she remains competitively handicapped off this mark of 56.
Matthew Lloyd Slater takes over on board for this “hands and heels” apprentice handicap and I expect Port Noir to be staying on strongly at the finish.
6:30 Kempton
Chapman’s Peak (0.5pt ew)
It was slightly disappointing to see CHAPMAN’S PEAK (best priced at 17/2) only finish 7th at Bath on his reappearance but he had previously won both of his handicap starts on the AW at the end of last season. The Ed Dunlop trained gelding won over this course and distance in October off a mark of 64 before following up over 7f at the same track a fortnight later off a mark of 68.
Chapman’s Peak will appreciate the return to Kempton for this race and P J McDonald should be able to get a good position from Stall 2.
