Topweight IRISH DANCER (best priced at 9/4) won this race last season when rated 10lbs lower but he arrives in good form this season. The Declan Carroll trained six-year-old has since won three times off marks of 50, 53 and 55 as well as placing off a mark of 56 on three occasions so far this year from four runs.

The handicapper has been generous dropping Irish Dancer 1lb for his 1 ½ length defeat last time at Southwell and he should now appreciate this return to Catterick dropping back into a 0-55 handicap for the first time since June.

The most interesting debutants are all drawn wider than ideal so this looks a good opportunity for CYDNEY SWEENIE (best priced at 13/8) to get off the mark at the second attempt. The Jack Morland trained filly ran well to finish 4th on her debut at Pontefract when only beaten 2 ½ lengths as a 9/1 shot.

Her sire won three times as a juvenile and her dam won on her second start as a juvenile so it is no surprise to see her out early in the season and Cydney Sweenie is expected to get off the mark with Oisin Murphy taking over on board.
