Dunkerque dug deep to win a novice hurdle at Newcastle, although he started life on the level in Denmark so isn't guaranteed to take to the larger obstacles. In contrast, KARA SACRE is from the family of Sprinter Sacre so is expected to come into his own now presented with a fence. It's not ideal that he starts off on the back of a fall, but he was in command when coming down at Ffos Las and is sure to have been given plenty of schooling since. Seaview Rock is another newcomer to this discipline and can be forgiven his Newcastle no-show.

It Takes Two was a place behind a subsequent winner when fifth at Huntingdon, while Crystal Glade's Market Rasen debut wasn't bad, but the bar isn't set too high so this might go to a newcomer. Top of the list is MARIE D'ALTALINARA, who cost 70,000 euros and is related to winners in France. For Her Glory is a half-sister to Listed-winning handicap hurdler Washington, with Go Hr and Mighty Harmony also making some appeal.

Getmyfriend offered enough encouragement on her opening third at Plumpton to suggest that she can make a mark at this level. However, the form of CRYSTALATE's debut fourth at Ludlow has a strong look to it and there is every chance that the four-year-old can make a winning stable bow for Olly Murphy. Newcomer Golden Bouquet requires a market check for top connections.

LHEUR DE GLOIRE wasn't without promise on his sixth-placed handicap bow over 2m5f at Haydock and a subsequent wind procedure could unlock significant improvement. The five-year-old travelled well into the race that day and this drop back in trip is forecast to suit. Although Miss Kassiopi was undone by a 7lb penalty at Ffos Las, she cannot be dismissed at this level, while Liberty Looming is worth a market check on his return for Adam Nicol.

King's Scholar should have learned plenty from his fourth-placed hurdling debut at Ludlow and he merits strong consideration given his Flat ability. However, LOUIS VERON went into plenty of notebooks when finding only a now 116-rated hurdler too strong on his racecourse bow at Chepstow back in October and he sets a good standard for the others to aim at. The 104-rated Sense Of Reason may fare best of the remainder.

Although DUFFRY TRIXS was unable to justify favouritism at Fontwell last month, he lost little in defeat in coming second. The seven-year-old makes plenty of appeal racing off an unaltered mark and compensation may be imminent. Prairie Diamond made the most of an easy lead at Wincanton and he shouldn't be taken lightly, for all that a 13lb hike may prove excessive. Handicap debutant Eternity Rose is also worth a second look.
