What caught the eye: I really liked the look of this filly for a bet next time out. She was stepped up 2f on handicap debut and plenty went wrong for her at Gowran on Tuesday. She was drawn widest of all in stall 14 of 14 and had to settle with being the back marker. The breaks were put on by the front runners which took all the pace out of the race which subsequently meant that she was lit up and pulled her way around the field exerting energy that would have rather have been kept for the finish.

She turned for home widest of all and then stayed on well after needing to be switched out when finding the heels of a rival which again was far from convenient. She stayed on well and was eased down to the line and wasn’t given too much of a hard time of things.

When is she a bet: Likely bet next time out and given the unfashionable connections I would presume that a nice double figure price will be attached to her name wherever she may line up.

What caught the eye: He didn’t get all the dominoes falling his way in The Victoria Cup on Saturday and had he gotten away from the stalls more quickly and a bit more luck in running he may well have troubled the winner. He’s gone and backed up his very good run in The Lincoln here and looks to be one who can win again given he remains off his mark of 93.

When is he a bet: A previous winner at Goodwood where we know that particular track can bring previous winners to the fore but I would be tracking him in these competitive handicap affairs and you may find that he can return some nice dividends before he lines up at that picturesque racecourse.

What caught the eye: This filly was dropped back to the 5f trip on her first run on turf for the season and you can see why she’s been kept at further and how she has won two of her last three starts prior to this run at Naas on Saturday. She

seemed a little awkward in running and to my eye that was due to the slightly quicker pace she was asked to travel but as many others started to tire she was just kicking into top gear. She was given a couple of encouragements from the pro-cush and took off. All a bit late in the day but a good run in third and I don’t think she’s reached her ceiling just yet!

When is she a bet: I would be looking to back her when back up to the 6 or 7 furlong trip but remains in good form and perhaps one to back on her next run.
