VIROFLAY struggled in the Topham last month but he'd been holding his form well prior to that. Olive Nicholls gets a good tune out of the lightly-raced nine-year-old and he is expected to bounce back in these calmer waters, as is Hoe Joly Smoke, who should do better on his second run following a wind operation. Lord Baddesley might be able to dominate from the front and would be a threat to all if doing so.

It is very hard to oppose GOLDEN SON, who failed to make an impact in the Aintree Foxhunters' Chase last time but that followed a fourth in the Hunters' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Regatta De Blanc has to be respected following a couple of wins between the flags, while High Game Royal is next best.

With that in mind, a chance can be taken with FLORA HOBBS, who won a British point-to-point last month and could make a winning debut under Rules.
