The dual winner of the Champions Fillies & Mares at Ascot, KALPANA looks to have been found a good opportunity on her return to the fray. Andrew Balding's charge ran a fine race in Group 1 company at the Curragh on last year's reappearance and will likely prove a cut above today's opposition if anywhere near her best. West Wind Blows forced the mighty Calandagan to pull out all the stops at Meydan in March. A similar effort would see him go close, while Arabian Force could also make his presence felt.

Golden Orbit beat a subsequent winner when making a winning debut over 7f at Newmarket last autumn. She boasts an entry in the Oaks, as does Sacred Ground, who found one too good in Listed company at Newmarket on her return, with ESNA not far behind in fourth. However, the latter is capable of much better based on last year's fourth in the Marcel Boussac behind subsequent French Guineas winner Diamond Necklace, and she gets another chance with Ryan Moore taking over the reins.

Notable Speech is a proven winner at the highest level and has strong claims on his victory in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Del Mar last year, where SAHLAN could only manage fifth. However, the latter will be much better suited to this more galloping track, having landed the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp last term, and Francis Graffard's charge is taken to turn the tables. The Gosdens have won the last two renewals and Damysus returned the impressive winner of a Group 3 at Newmarket last month. He steps up in class, along with last season's Group 2 winner Zeus Olympios, who made a promising return when looking in need of the run when third in the bet365 Mile at Sandown last month.

ROYAL FIXATION makes her debut for Karl Burke having won the Lowther at York as a juvenile. When last seen, the daughter of Palace Pier was third to the subsequent 1000 Guineas winner True Love in the Cheveley Park and she can make a winning return. Wise Approach would be a big threat based on his Middle Park success, but he was disappointing at Ascot recently. Albert Einstein also has questions to answer right now but it is too soon to be writing him off given the hype around him earlier in the year.

MY LOVE IS KING confirmed the promise of his debut success when narrowly denied by the Derby-bound Maltese Cross over C&D in April. The son of Kingman once again hit the crossbar in Listed company last time and all that suggests that a mark of 96 should be workable on his handicap bow. Sahara King was not far behind the selection in the novice event here last month and he could prove to be the main threat, although Lost Boys and Al Azd are others with solid form claims.

This is wide-open but the one to beat is arguably ADDISON GREY. Clive Cox's gelding chased home a well-handicapped rival when second at Newmarket a fortnight ago and he makes plenty of appeal off 2lb higher. Realign failed to fire on his return but first-time cheekpieces may spark some improvement and the four-year-old should not be written off, while Purosangue edges out Wiltshire and Dark Ace to be nest best.

Roger Varian has won two of the last five runnings of this contest, including with subsequent Royal Hunt Cup hero My Cloud 12 months ago, and INDALO, an unlucky nose second in the Cambridgeshire last September, has strong credentials, despite being 4lb higher. The five-year-old has won on his reappearance before and looks as if he may still have improvement to come. Mezcala was a comfortable winner at Doncaster at the end of March but an added 8lb for that looks harsh. With that in mind, Listed fifth Hard Endeavor might prove to be the main threat on his handicap debut.

Law Court was sent off favourite on his return to action at Wolverhampton before going under by a neck over 7f, running on well to suggest the step up to a mile should suit. Stable companion Lost Signal could go well if he gets an easy run on the front end after being pestered before finishing second at Newmarket, but the race may be set up for MEDIA LEGEND. He makes his handicap debut off a mark of 77 after being hampered at Southwell in December and is bred to be far better as a three-year-old.
