DIAMOND MIX is taken to show the benefit of his comeback third at Newcastle and resume winning ways. A dual winner over C&D last year, he looks one to keep on the right side of back over these fences and is narrowly preferred to Conquer The Breeze. The latter struck here on his first start for Adam Nicol's yard and makes more appeal than last year's winner Dream Jet, despite an 8lb rise.

OUT ON HER OWN was doing her best work at the finish when third in a mares' handicap hurdle over 2m here last month. The extra yardage is not an issue on the evidence of her close second at Carlisle prior to that and Dianne Sayer's six-year-old can make a successful start to her chasing career. Scairp Dubh returned the resolute winner over C&D recently and a 3lb rise may not be enough to prevent another bold bid. Passengerontheship looks on a fair mark if bouncing back.

KATIE'S MELODY produced arguably her best effort over hurdles when second at Chepstow last month and the point-to-point winner makes plenty of appeal now going over fences for the first time. The Clonmel Kid would have every chance if coming back to his Newcastle form and cannot be overlooked, while Milan Milos created a sound impression when staying strongly over an extended 3m1f for the victory at Plumpton.

The King and Queen have enjoyed plenty of success recently on the Flat and might be able to toast another winner, this time over hurdles. BOLD STEP outperformed market expectations when finishing second on debut in an Exeter bumper and will likely know his job now sent jumping given his connections. Passing Diamond is more experienced and has won here, which should stand him in good stead. Mister St Eloi is another interesting contender.

WEE ALKI certainly wasn't winning out of turn here 17 days ago following second-placed efforts at Sedgefield, and it might be worth sticking with Susan Corbett's charge while he's evidently on good terms with himself. His stable companion Sunset Hill is also worthy of a mention following her C&D second, but Nicky Henderson's Thewoodcorner is the main danger following a stylish Ffos Las success when stepped up to this distance.

Fine Point and Western Soldier cannot be overlooked in the finale, but the verdict is for FAIRLY FULLING. He was fresh when scoring at Newcastle in March and was quite taking that day, so it's interesting that he's had another couple of months off. Malangen has been knocking on the door and is a C&D winner, so also commands respect.
