Steve Ryder is back with four free selections on Wednesday.
2:12 Ayr
Classy Clarets (1pt)
Best price 3/1 at the time of publishing.
With no proven front runners in this 0-60 handicap, the fact that CLASSY CLARETS (best priced at 4/1) has won over 5f, 6f and 7f in his career, shows how versatile he is and that will be a huge help if this gets tactical. The Iain Jardine trained five-year-old is the only recent winner in the line-up with the other 9 runners not recording a victory in at least their previous four starts. He has shown improved form since all headgear has been removed. He had previously worn hoods, cheekpieces, tongue ties, blinkers but since they were all removed, he has form figures of 1331. Those wins have been over 6f at Wolverhampton and 5f at Hamilton with his latest win coming in an apprentice handicap under this rider Mohammed Tabti.
The handicapper yesterday raised Classy Clarets 3lbs for that neck victory but he instead runs here unpenalised. Interestingly, he has also been declared for Musselburgh tomorrow so connections might strike while the iron is hot if he wins today.

Pearl Eye (1pt)
Best price 9/4 at the time of publishing.
PEARL EYE (best priced at 9/4) was a 7 time winner for Darryll Holland including off marks of 84 and 83. He had a short spell with Gay Kelleway without success but was a huge eyecatcher here on his stable debut over a mile. He was held up in rear that day but stayed on strongly over this one mile trip and was beaten less than a length at the finish.
That run was under Lauren Young who retains the ride and Classy Clarets runs here off the same mark of 73. At the same track but over an additional furlong which should suit and he looks the one beat off a mark 10lbs lower than his last success.
