Stepping up in trip looks well worth a try and this could be a good opportunity for the progressive four-year-old. Handmedownastar, a point-to-point recruit, has proven stamina and can make this a good test for the selection. Emma Lavelle is represented by Midnight Pass and Grey Gamble, and support in the betting for either would be noteworthy.

HIERO SPORT stayed out of trouble to win a messy race over 2m3f here and doesn't look overburdened by just a 3lb rise. Assuming he copes with cutting back slightly in trip, another bold showing from the Alex Hales-trained gelding looks likely. Chartwell Jock, who was useful on the Flat for Andrew Balding, finished one place and five lengths in front of Shalfa when third at Plumpton last month. A step forward from that should see him on the premises.

HATOS has been consistent in defeat this year and his reliability earns him the vote. In comparison to his peak official ratings, the nine-year-old's current mark of 83 is very persuasive in this company. Gata Ban isn't always the most fluent of jumpers, but she was clear of the rest when second over C&D last time and could have a big say off the same figure. Friends Don't Ask stays well and is the pick of the remainder.

All of these have claims, but marginal preference is for MISS GOLDFIRE. Harry Fry's mare returned to winning ways over C&D earlier in the month and makes plenty of appeal off just 5lb higher. Shutfrontdoor has to be respected on her handicap debut following three placed efforts in novice/maiden company, while Smugglers Haven was successful when last seen over hurdles and appears to be on a good mark.

CINDERELLO arrives here having won two of her last four starts and a 6lb rise for the latest of those victories at Warwick earlier in the month may not be enough to stop her on this occasion. Juggernaut has finished second on his last couple of appearances, albeit well held both times, and could repeat that here. The rest have questions to answer, but Harley's Pride and Lelantos are the pick of them.

MAJESTIC MOMENT was on a three-timer when making a mistake here and unseating his rider at the fifth fence, and it's well worth giving him another chance given the strength of that previous form. He should go very close if none the worse for that mishap but keep an eye on fellow C&D winner Lunar Ocean, who was really impressive from the front here 10 days ago. Gorcombe Moonshine is noted too.

La Dame Ecarlate is very much a newcomer to respect in this mares' bumper and she commands attention for the potent Jamie Snowden/Gavin Sheehan combination. Glad To Be Alive is another to bear in mind, but much better was clearly expected of PRESTIGE RUNNER on her sole point-to-point outing and she could show us what she's made of now debuting under Rules for Mickey Bowen.
