REDWOOD QUEEN suffered an unlucky defeat in this race last year and can make amends. On that occasion, she looked the likely winner in the straight and held an advantage of a length when unseating her jockey at the final hurdle. A clear round of jumping this time should see her home in front as she fared better than Oh So Charming, Hasten Slowly and War Correspondent in a similar contest to this at Tramore and takes a huge drop in class after failing to figure in a Listed mares' hurdle at Killarney last time. Oh So Charming was a place behind the selection in fourth at Tramore and could be the danger after another decent effort at Clonmel last time.
Prediction : 1st Redwood Queen 2nd Oh So Charming 3rd Hasten Slowly

Although a faller on his racecourse debut at Cork in December, TIME IS A THIEF bounced back to win his maiden hurdle in fine style at Tramore last month and is taken to follow up in this rated hurdle. Henry de Bromhead's six-year-old is certainly the most unexposed runner in the field and he may well improve past the likes of three-time winner Colcannon, who was a beaten favourite in a novice hurdle at the Punchestown Festival. Moon Mission came good when successful in a rated novice hurdle at Cork, while Berto Ramirez won a maiden hurdle at Down Royal. Immutable has shown his best form on soft and heavy ground.
Prediction : 1st Time Is A Thief 2nd Colcannon 3rd Berto Ramirez

GREY GARDENS showed up well on his handicap debut earlier this month and the locally-trained five-year-old is taken to go well again. He was having his first start in five months when third to a couple of in-form rivals at Down Royal and he is certainly entitled to improve, especially as his jumping was far from fluent early in the race. Emesteraye tops the weights as she enters handicaps for the first time, and better ground might aid her chance too. Walk On Annilog is a consistent sort and is definitely worth considering, as is Demanding Gerry, a runner-up on three of her five starts last year.
Prediction : 1st Grey Gardens 2nd Emesteraye 3rd Demanding Gerry

DEISE CRYSTAL posted his best effort to date when second to Mo Ghille Mar over this course and distance earlier in the month and the five-year-old can go a place better now. He couldn't peg back the front-running winner that day but stuck to his task well, suggesting that a breakthrough success is not too far away. Bella Union is chasing a hat-trick of wins, but he was hit with an 8lb rise following a narrow victory at Down Royal and has more to do now. His stable companion Fine Print has yet to win over hurdles, but he arrives on the back of two decent Flat runs and might be capable of better.
Prediction : 1st Deise Crystal 2nd Fine Print 3rd Bella Union

KARLYNN stepped up on previous soft-ground form when fifth behind Arcadian Emperor over this trip at Clonmel and further advertised his chance when beating all bar the odds-on Arouet at Cork earlier this month. He meets the handicap upper limit for this maiden and is preferred to Casual Water, who showed much improved form when placed behind Look Sport at Kilbeggan. Tiger Twins and Happy Me are closely matched on running behind Hi Ho Idaho at Killarney, while Grandy Lane and Youneedabitofluck are others to consider.
Prediction : 1st Karlynn 2nd Casual Water 3rd Tiger Twins

DANI DONADONI filled the runner-up spot twice before easily landing the odds when beating Doctor Elvis over 2m3f at Limerick. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding didn't get further than the first subsequently in a valuable handicap hurdle at the Punchestown Festival and this looks a good opportunity to regain the winning thread. Lemmy Caution appreciated the step up to this trip in a Punchestown maiden and is now fitted with blinkers after wandering about on the run-in. Rocky's Howya has proved a prolific winner in point-to-points and and has won three times in claiming hurdles this year.
Prediction : 1st Dani Donadoni 2nd Lemmy Caution 3rd Rockys Howya

19:49 Wexford

Oogum Boogum beat BALLINABOOLA GOLD by a length and a half over this trip at Punchestown a fortnight ago and the placings may now be reversed on the revised terms. The Dick Donohoe-trained mare was trying 3m for the first time and may have a bit more scope for improvement. Annie Button was fitted with cheekpieces for the first time when successfully stepping up to this sort of distance at Cork earlier this month and goes on the shortlist. Others to note include Lecale's Diamond and Knocknagoran Lady.
Prediction : 1st Ballinaboola Gold 2nd Oogum Boogum 3rd Annie Button

20:19 Wexford

He's My Hero filled the runner-up spot on his sole point-to-point start behind the smart Croke Park and showed plenty of promise on both subsequent bumper appearances, including at the Punchestown Festival. The son of Telescope has been absent for over three years, though, and while market support would be significant, it may prove wiser to side with KISUTON ENKI. The Gordon Elliott-trained mare beat all bar favourite Fly Away Home on her hurdling debut at Limerick and occupied the same position when chasing home Coco's Legacy in a Downpatrick bumper last month. Weaponized and Square Jasmin both made encouraging debuts and John Gleeson is a notable booking aboard the latter.
Prediction : 1st Kisuton Enki 2nd Hes My Hero 3rd Square Jasmin
