There isn't a lot of strong recent hurdling form to go on and it may pay to side with the 105-rated WHATS NEW. Andy Slattery's charge has the benefit of being placed in three of his nine hurdle races and this looks a good opportunity for him to get his head in front. Last year's winning combination of Denis Hogan and Gavin Brouder are represented by Earthwatch, who was a place behind the selection in fourth at Killarney last month, so he looks one of the main protagonists. Gordon Elliott fields a couple of horses and his newcomer Open Approach is well worth a check for market strength. Prediction : 1st Whats New 2nd Earthwatch 3rd Open Approach

GENTLE ANNIE could have something to offer on her return to action. Her third place in a Tramore maiden hurdle in October last year reads well given the subsequent exploits of the winner. It may be best to put a line through her next run when unplaced on handicap debut at Fairyhouse as that was on deep ground. She is low-mileage and has more upside than most of her rivals. Gino Bella was pulled up when favourite at Kilbeggan in April. She has been freshened up since then and her recent outings prior would give her every chance. Tingarran Express, Marlpark and Benzine are others in there pitching for prize money. Prediction : 1st Gentle Annie 2nd Gino Bella 3rd Tingarran Express

LISS EILE was backed at big prices in Tramore and responded with a close fourth place. There could be a bit more to come from her competing off a light weight with Luke Burke Ott claiming 7lb. Kp's Ladyofknock had been off for a long time before reappearing at Down Royal in April. She was in the process of running a decent race in second when she fell at the final flight, and is certainly one for consideration. Sidiriya kept on for third in Sligo and it wouldn't be a surprise to see her make the breakthrough over flights, while Fedneys Park and You Done Well will have their supporters. Prediction : 1st Liss Eile 2nd Kps Ladyofknock 3rd Sidiriya

THIS SONGISFORYOU has reached a triple-figure rating on the Flat and is fairly unexposed over flights. This former bumper winner had two races over hurdles when fifth at both Roscommon and Galway almost three years ago, and it is interesting that connections are trying again given how much money he has earned on the Flat in the intervening years. In The Trenches is a long-standing maiden across all codes, but finished runner-up in his last couple of hurdle contests. Market Ready doesn't have a lot of miles on the clock and was runner-up over a shorter trip at this track in April, while It's All Clear has had some solid runs in bumpers and is one to note on hurdle debut. Prediction : 1st This Songisforyou 2nd In The Trenches 3rd Market Ready

Thecompanysergeant and FARREN GLORY are closely matched from Ballinrobe last month when the former beat the latter by a neck in second and third respectively. The latter, who holds a higher rating, is taken to get his revenge with the forecast rain very much to his liking. Farren Glory's sole previous visit to Clonmel saw him win his maiden hurdle by almost 10 lengths. That Ballinrobe result was a welcome return to form for Thecompanysergeant who could build upon it. King Of Kingsfield has been extensively chasing for more than a year. He has plenty of talent and this is effectively a drop in class for him. If Encanto Bruno can rediscover his best form, he would be a threat. Prediction : 1st Farren Glory 2nd Thecompanysergeant 3rd King Of Kingsfield

GLOBAL SKIES was well clear of the remainder when runner-up over a similar trip at this track last month and could get his chance to get off the mark in this sphere. Any rain would aid his cause as his sole victory on the Flat came on deep ground at Haydock. Coded Welder made a bright start to life with Cian Collins when second at Cork. He's now been placed four times over flights and wouldn't be winning out of turn. Inthenickoftime had a productive spell over timber last year and would be a significant threat if fully wound up for his racecourse return. In For The Night has moved to Conor O'Dwyer and is more than capable of a big run. Prediction : 1st Global Skies 2nd Coded Welder 3rd Inthenickoftime

ZOLPHARINE has really put things together recently and he may be able to bag a hat-trick. The Yeats gelding was a cosy winner back over timber at Tramore a week ago and Harry Sexton negates most of the 10lb hike with his 7lb claim. Oogum Boogum was a winner at Punchestown on his penultimate start and made a bold bid from the front again when third at Wexford nine days ago. He could be a big player again. Although Where Are You Now was slightly disappointing last time at the County Kildare track, he had been narrowly edged out there on his previous run and is another to consider.Prediction : 1st Zolpharine 2nd Oogum Boogum 3rd Where Are You Now
