Forty Years On was 2nd beaten only a head on her final start last season but the winner won the

Hambleton Handicap at York on her reappearance and is now rated 7lbs higher. Forty Years On runs here off only a 2lb higher mark and can reward the patience of connections who have waited for cut in the ground.

The Roger Varian trained RETURN TO UNIT (best priced at 9/2) was a bitter disappointment on his handicap debut at Ayr last time but he can bounce back in first-time blinkers. The four-year-old ended last season with a victory here beating My Fermoy by a length in a novice race off level weights and that rival is now rated 87. 

Return To Unit was making his reappearance after 217 days off the track when 7th beaten 6 ½ lengths at Ayr last time but he can step forward from that now fitted with first-time blinkers off this mark of 80, back over the same course and distance that he won last season.
