UK Horse Racing Tips: Sandown

Neptune Legend has won three of his last four starts and the latest of them was the most impressive. He's evidently on good terms with himself, but a 6lb rise coupled with a marked step up in class might mean it's wiser to side with SMART VISION. Jessica Macey's gelding has yet to trouble the judge this season, but he drops in grade and looks to have a real chance from 8lb below his last winning mark. Havana Smile is also noted.

Dubawi colt UNITED AUTHORITY fetched the princely sum of 700,000gns as a yearling and with plenty of class on the dam's side, it would come as no surprise were he more than good enough to make an immediate impact on the track. New Oxford is related to four separate winners and is of interest for a yard amongst the winners, whilst others to note include Zero Error, On Target and Jinman.

BAYSIDE VIEW bumped into a potentially useful sort on her debut at Doncaster before breaking the maiden in impressive fashion at Newbury. Michael Bell's filly holds a Group 1 entry at this stage, which could certainly be on the horizon were she to land this. Aperoll brings some strong form to the table having finished third in the Chesham and looks the main danger, but don't rule out War Banner or Tall Trees.

TAWAJJAH caught the eye when second on his return from 612 days off at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago and Oli Rix's gelding could be hard to beat with the benefit of that outing. Kamaway has won two of her last three starts and the in-form filly is an obvious threat to the selection, while Morcar and Londoner are others with strong form claims.

All of these have claims, but marginal preference is for PROBATION. The son of Without Parole was a 12-length winner of a three-runner contest at Lingfield last week and he makes plenty of appeal under a 6lb penalty. My Ballyquinn is 5lb higher than when scoring at York most recently and is the only one here proven over this trip. Alma Latina was a beaten favourite on her handicap debut at Epsom but it is far too soon to be writing her off.

Shirakawa and ARAVALLI are likely to prove popular in their bids to complete a hat-trick, with the latter the most appealing. Joe Tickle's filly arrives on the back of a ready triumph at Chepstow and, officially 4lb well-in, she should take all the beating. An opening mark of 68 could see Talitha Rouge proving more competitive, while Albertini Star is a potential improver stepping up in distance.

Having dug deep to secure a hat-trick at Epsom recently, a 3lb nudge up in the ratings is unlikely to prevent another bold showing from Sail On Sailor. However, this rise in class demands more of the three-year-old and it could be worth persevering with the unexposed STRONG VOICE. James Horton's colt didn't enjoy the best of passages on his second-placed handicap bow at Ffos Las and compensation might be imminent. Marsh Benham, Lodge and Prodigal Son are others to consider.
