UK Horse Racing Tips: Chester

Joey Ramsden's charge has won four times since fitted with cheekpieces at the start of the year, but AL MASLOOL could edge an open affair. The latter finished a respectable third at Nottingham last time considering he missed the break and the son of Dark Angel will appreciate this extra test of stamina.

COOL MOLLY had little chance from an unfavourable high draw here last time and is better judged on her creditable third over C&D back in May. 3lb lower in a lower-grade event, Ollie Sangster's filly looks to have strong claims. The recent Beverley winner Highland Olly had a subsequent winner back in third and could be in the mix once again, while Woodstock and Giant are others with a shout.

VELOCIRAPTOR will likely prove a warm order on the strength of his promising debut effort at Newmarket. A respectable third behind a Ballydoyle hotpot and a representative of Godolphin, Hugo Palmer's charge is taken to the most of this easier opportunity and open his account. Storm Blade also faced a tougher test when fifth at Sandown last time and can make his presence felt, while Sea Idol may prove best of the remainder.

GRASMERE BOY has benefited from being dropped to 6f on his last couple of starts, with a maiden victory at Ripon followed by a successful handicap debut over C&D a fortnight ago. Despite a 6lb rise, there is every chance the son of Harry Angel has further progression to come. Ray Mon Dough was runner-up at Lingfield in May and commands plenty of respect, while Calico Blue and Tricky Tel head the remainder.

RIGHT AND EXACT improved from his return to action with a brace of victories at Thirsk and Musselburgh. The four-year-old has a good draw in stall one and the application of blinkers may well see him take another step forward. Secret Mistral made all to score comfortably over C&D a fortnight ago, but the combination of a 6lb rise and a wider draw makes life tougher on this occasion. Others to consider include Al Hussar and Copper Knight.

SEVEN SISTERS has stack of scope and the Kingman filly is an attractive proposition getting all the weight allowances on her handicap debut. Value for more than the winning margin suggested in a novice event at Doncaster last month, her opening mark of 81 is highly workable. Break The Bank is an obvious danger after near-misses at Ayr and Hamilton, while Nolton Cross was narrowly denied over C&D most recently and is a player off the same mark.

J Street can race keenly but it didn't stop her winning two of her last three starts. A 4lb rise for her success at Doncaster still leaves her on a winning mark and another bold bid looks assured if being drawn wide can be overcome. However, KELDEO has fared much better on that criteria and her berth in stall one could be highly advantageous. The three-year-olds Harry Mole and Guernsey Lady also command respect on these terms.
