Path DOroux
Path d'Oroux looks the sort capable of running into the frame back in this grade, and there's enough encouragement from the yard to make him of interest in a competitive-looking pot.
He's a genuinely versatile sort with plenty of experience under his belt - wins recorded over hurdles, in a bumper, over fences and in a point-to-point, showing he handles a range of trips from 2m out to 3m and copes with ground from good through to testing conditions. His most recent hurdling form isn't one to shout about, well beaten at long odds in a Punchestown chase back in April, but that was a step up in discipline rather than a true form line for today's race.
The more relevant clue comes straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak - Gavin Cromwell reports he's been dropping down the weights over recent seasons and ran a really pleasing race in third on the Flat at Killarney only a couple of weeks back, a sign he's finding some form again at exactly the right time. Back down in class today with a valuable prize on offer, connections clearly see this as a good opportunity to get him competitive again.

Ifiwerearichman
He's proven over course conditions before, having got the job done here back in 2023, and while his more recent efforts haven't hit those heights, the form he's working off isn't a bad one - his run last time has since been boosted by what's come out of the race. Sixth of 16 behind Putapoundinthejar at Bellewstown last month, beaten 4½ lengths, isn't the most eye-catching finishing position on paper, but with that form working out well since, there's more encouragement in it than the bare result suggests.
Two wins to his name over hurdles and fences alike, both coming at this same 2m to 2m1f trip, and with conditions ranging from good to yielding proving no obstacle, he looks a fair traveller in terms of what he needs underfoot. Dropping back to this trip today, on a track he already knows he handles well, looks a sound match for his profile.

Brosna Town
Brosna Town looks worth chancing each-way tonight, with conditions shaping up much more in his favour than of late.
He showed he retains real ability when runner-up over hurdles at Market Rasen recently, a run that suggests he's fundamentally in good order even if his most recent effort on the level didn't go entirely to plan. A return to this sphere, back to a handicap on the Flat over a mile and four furlongs, looks tailor-made to bring out a bounce-back performance, and a useful mark of 80 gives him something to work with against this field.
A markedly better draw this evening should help matters too, allowing him to get the sort of uncomplicated run that his profile deserves rather than fighting traffic from an awkward stall.
