Racing Lee shares his best bets for Friday's racing action at Doncaster and Chester.
1:50 Doncaster
TIP 1: QUIET RESOLVE - 0.5pt
Best odds of 14/1 at bet365 while publishing.
WEILD - 0.5pt
Best odds of 7/1 at bet365 while publishing.
Another not to get stuck into strongly with the set-up of the race (Legends/riders), but, last year’s third QUIET RESOLVE stayed on strongly on this same good to soft going, and has been in form as shown when runner-up last time out.
WEILD was just denied last time out, and will probably exploit the mark sooner rather than later, so may give Joe Fanning a good spin now recently retired.
1:15 Doncaster
TIP 2: NABATI - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 13/8 at Unibet while publishing.
NABATI comes up against a field of potential, but can be narrowed down to 3 or 4 to beat.
I see the cases for the very easy debut winner Forbidden Fire, and especially for Rock Montreal, who cost 1Million Guineas.
But, the 850,000 Night Of Thunder colt, NABATI, already sets a standard to aim at.
No disrespect, but an odds-on success on debut when beating nothing was smooth and comfortable, but nothing to shout about.
But, a staying on neck second in a strong Listed race is where we are looking.
The winner has subsequently won the Group 2 Gimcrack.
The 3rd ran second in a Group 3 in France, and 4th in that Group 2 Gimcrack at York (Agamemnon - later selection)
4th from the race ran 3rd in a Group 3.
5th won a Listed race last time out.
And, the 6th & 8th, ran 4th & 5th in a big sales yesterday at the track yesterday.
The form has worked out very strongly, and is the best form on offer, add in NABATI has since won readily, from a horse who was sent off favourite for a Group 3 last time out, and is well-entered.
2:25 Doncaster
TIP 3: FINAL OBJECTIVE - 1pt WIN
Best odds available of 10/3 at bet365 while publishing.
AGAMEMNON - 0.5pt EW (4 places)
Best odds available of 20/1 at BetMGM UK while publishing.
Two agaisnt the field, with preference for FINAL OBJECTIVE. Both ran in the Group 2 Gimcrack at York, in a race likely to work out well, as mentioned above (NABATI), and both have previous form.
A saver on AGAMEMNON being a winner at this trip, and only 2 lengths behind Final Objective last time out, but is way over-priced, hopefully filling the frame at least.
3:35 Doncaster
TIP 4: SILVER LAKE - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 15/8 at PricedUp while publishing.
420,000gns well-rated filly, who has won well on her last three starts, and could be the group horse in a handicap.
6lb rise demands more from the last gasp York victory, but she was given plenty to do. And, all her last three handicap starts have been late wins, and finishing best of all, suggesting the step up in trip is of no issue.
2:12 Chester
TIP 5: SHE’S TOO KOOL - 1pt WIN
Best odds of 3/1 at bet365 while publishing.
SHE’S TOO KOOL has the form in the big, but with it means she’s not exposed than the rest. Skewsby has plenty to find off debut run, and the other two have something to recommend, but I like the form of SHE’S TOO KOOL and hopefully the experience pays off.
Debut run she was pitched into Group 3 company, but put in her place by Albert Einstein & Power Blue.
She was clear next time out on soft, but pulled up as didn’t handle the bend at Leopardstown.
The 86-rated Dial Me In beat her in a better race than this by a couple of lengths, before running just over three lengths behind Suzie Songs and Flushing Meadows, both rated 98 in a Group 3 at the Curragh.
She was rated 85 for her sole handicap run, and was beaten two lengths two starts ago, and then less than a length last time out.
She’s now rated 70, with 3lbs claimed off, and gets weight all round. The other two can improve, but have been off for 50 & 80 days, respectively. And, the selection was cheap, and it says winless so far, but they still need to match the form, so hopefully the Irish raider can land her first win today in this small field.
