RONNIE'S RASCAL wasn't done any favours by the winner when she finished second over an extended 2m6f here last month. That was a return to obstacles for the Willie Mullins-trained filly and she looks to be a work in progress. Dropping in trip could be a good move given she was clear of the rest in that event. Brave Lady was thought good enough to tackle a Listed race at the Galway Festival and must be feared dropped in grade here. Certosa and Rosarian are other interesting options.

TAKE THE FREE is on an upward trajectory and appeals after getting off the mark with a little in hand at Roscommon. That was only his fourth career start and his mark of 113 leaves plenty of room to manoeuvre now he tackles handicap company. Jupiter Du Gite went down fighting when filling the runner-up berth at Killarney on his last two starts. He is again a prime candidate to be on the premises. In The Minus and Luck Between Us also hold decent each-way chances.

Theflyingbee was a place ahead of her when runner-up at Downpatrick, but wasn't quite up to that standard at Bellewstown subsequently. You Make Me Smile's recent displays have hinted that her turn is imminent again.

STRAIGHT HOME was a progressive hurdler until spending a lengthy period on the sidelines and she blew away the cobwebs with a satisfactory third on her chasing debut at Tramore last month. With that experience under her belt, she is preferred to Carried With Love, who ran well in a couple of competitive events won by Cousin Kate and has joined Jonathan Sweeney ahead of her fencing career. Affinity Rock is a better chaser than she was a hurdler and her experience edge will carry her a long way.

Two of LADIES WELL's four starts over fences have resulted in commanding successes, both at Killarney. She was raised 8lb for the latest of those wins, but Alan O'Sullivan removes a handy 5lb and it is surely best to stick with the in-form mare. The veteran Fr Gilligansvoyge came up short in his hat-trick bid at Wexford, but does remain of interest along with Roscommon victor Il Silenzio. Don't look past Las Brisas Boy, who could improve for a switch to the larger obstacles.

LADY DOYANNE finished second to Ballybrittas at Wexford in July, but she had that rival over three lengths in arrears when occupying the same position next time. Connections reach for a first-time tongue-tie and should it work the oracle, Henry de Bromhead's mare will go close to breaking her fencing duck. Mo Ghille Mar tackles the larger obstacles for the first time having won over flights at Down Royal a fortnight ago and edges out Itsalonglongroad to be the pick of the remainder.

Neither Le Grand Retour or Gaelic Seer would need to be anything out of the ordinary to feature on their introductions, but it still looks best to side with IRON SWORD. The bay has produced a couple of really promising efforts so far, most recently when third at Roscommon, and any further improvement should suffice for a team that has been among the winners.
