This looks a competitive 0-80 handicap but preference goes to BRIGHTON BEACH (best priced at 5/2) who has looked progressive in her four career starts. She justified favouritism to get off the mark at Thirsk last month before running well to finish 3rd beaten only 1 ½ lengths on her handicap debut last time at Goodwood.
Brighton Beach was slightly unlucky not to win that day as she didn’t get the clearest of runs late on and was staying on well over the 1m2f trip late on. She had made all on her penultimate start so she is tactically versatile and should still have progress off the same mark of 73.

The David O’Meara trained TALITHA ROUGE (best priced at 7/4) got off the mark at the sixth attempt last week at Redcar and she looks to hold strong claims of following up despite a 6lb penalty. The three-year-old had a change of tactics last time as she had previously made the running, however, she travelled comfortably before easing clear by two lengths late on.
The handicapper has only raised Talitha Rouge 4lbs for that success but she instead runs here under a 6lb penalty meaning that she is technically 2lbs “wrong” at the weights. She should get a huge amount of confidence from that victory and can follow up against some out of form rivals.
