Some may not be as forgiving as I’m going to be with ROUSING ENCORE (12/1). Something has definitely not been right with him this season even though he’s ran the odd nice race but he’s getting ideal conditions in this race today and the nature of this should set up perfectly for him. He wants to be delivered late and pass horses and that’s ideal with the testing conditions at Ayr.
He’s certainly well handicapped but does have questions to answer given his form this season. He likes the course having won here last season and I’m hoping that the rest has done him the world of good and he’s back down to the same mark that saw him win in September of last year.
Draw, ground, track and trip are all positives and I’m taking one more leap off the cliff.
