A winner over fences at Punchestown last time, VAUREAL can follow up off a lower hurdles rating. Relatively unexposed over flights, the Ian Donoghue-trained gelding landed a maiden hurdle for previous connections and the seven-year-old has strong claims off his current mark. The runner-up at Downpatrick last month, Dairy Force could once again be involved at the finish having now finished second on six occasions, while Home By The Sea has place claims on the form of his earlier efforts at Ballinrobe and Down Royal in August.
Prediction : 1st Vaureal 2nd Dairy Force 3rd Home By The Sea

It is difficult to look past ROCKY'S HOWYA in his bid for yet another win in this grade. Looking as good as ever when readily landing a similar contest at Bellewstown in August, the admirable 10-year-old could prove hard to beat if in a similar mood. Runner-up to the selection at Bellewstown, Rich Belief subsequently reverted to the Flat to finish third at this track last month. In better form than the majority of these, the Make Believe gelding could again provide the main threat. Plontier is not badly treated if rediscovering his form.
Prediction : 1st Rockys Howya 2nd Rich Belief 3rd Plontier

A weak affair in which it could pay to side with LINCALL. The son of Doctor Dino ran his best race to date when fifth here last year and, following a satisfactory stable debut for new connections at Wexford in August, he sets the standard. A final flight faller over 3m at Cork in July, Howyasox could make her presence felt granted a clear round. Dropping back in trip shouldn't be an issue for her, while Vargas has scope for some improvement and is not ruled out either.
Prediction : 1st Lincall 2nd Howyasox 3rd Vargas

Recent Navan runner-up SALLAP can step up a place. A three-time career scorer, two of those successes have come at this venue. While her wins have been over further, the Sam Curling-trained mare is worth chancing at this trip and arrives here in good form. Lightly raced six-year-old Crossbar Getaway has to enter calculations on her debut for the James Fahey stable. Second in a maiden hurdle here on her penultimate start for Gordon Elliott, the daughter of Getaway has scope for improvement over flights. Eaglewood has shaped well enough on a few occasions to suggest that she could get involved under Danny Mullins.
Prediction : 1st Sallap 2nd Crossbar Getaway 3rd Eaglewood

FRIAR HOGAN, who looks well handicapped off a mark of 94, can record a first career success. In with every chance when hampered and carried out at the last at Limerick in May, the Donal Hassett-trained gelding returned to that same venue to finish second on his penultimate start. While the son of Crystal Ocean failed to justify favouritism at Kilbeggan last time, that tight track may not have suited. On the balance of his recent form, he is worth forgiving that blip. Pure Logic has been in decent form of late and has to hold strong claims, while Land Of Punt is one that catches the eye on his first start for the Ian Donoghue stable.
Prediction : 1st Friar Hogan 2nd Pure Logic 3rd Land Of Punt

Off the mark over hurdles at Tramore in August, LOUIESCALL can follow up. Having reached the frame in two subsequent starts on the Flat, the David Harry Kelly-trained gelding looks fairly treated back in handicap company. Relatively lightly raced over flights, the five-year-old has yet to race over this trip but he has decent staying form on the level and the smaller field here should suit. Downpatrick winner Kashchei looks to provide the biggest threat. A guaranteed stayer, the Cian Collins-trained gelding arrives here in decent form and has the services of in-form Alan O'Sullivan. Dual point-to-point runner-up Star Cave is another that is sure to appreciate this test of stamina.
Prediction : 1st Louiescall 2nd Kashchei 3rd Star Cave

Recent Down Royal runner-up TECHNOLOGY can belatedly register a first career win. Staying on well to take minor honours on that occasion, the form received a boost when the third horse won at Listowel subsequently. Young Tralee jockey Ross Sugrue has made a bright start to his professional career and his claim should prove great value. Private Policy won at Punchestown in May before finishing fifth off his revised mark at Sligo next time. A confirmed stayer, the Nigel Slevin-trained eight-year-old looks a leading contender. Paul Collins, who hinted at a return to form when seventh at Galway last month, should also be capable of making his presence felt.
Prediction : 1st Technology 2nd Private Policy 3rd Paul Collins
