Gran Dia makes plenty of appeal on paper and so does Pyledriver's close relation Humble Pyle, while the selection's stable companion Star Rose and Martaban are two more to consider in an intriguing contest.

Gold Army didn't really have any excuses when finishing second at Kempton, but he's still heading in the right direction and must enter calculations. Forest Bay is related to a host of useful types and is an interesting prospect ahead of her debut, but experience can win the day for METICULOUSLY. Ed Walker's colt might have finished closer than fourth had he gained a clear passage at Leicester, but that won't be lost on him and he is expected to take a significant step forward.

Kamaal boasts an official rating of 87 and must be considered, but he could only manage third in a Lingfield novice last time and is passed over in favour of newcomer SHOWMASTER. Clive Cox's colt fetched 105,000gns as a yearling and he's related to a number of useful individuals. The most notable, Sam Maximus, made his name as a sprinter but a chance is taken that he will see out the seven and his trainer often does well with his youngsters at this venue. Vulcanist and High Summer are others to note.

Not quite able to show his best under hold-up tactics in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton, he's better judged on his earlier third in Listed company in France and the Crisfords' colt is taken to make the most of this easier opportunity. Dance A Jig ran out of steam on testing going over the minimum trip at Ayr. He looks worth another try at 6f, while A Bear Affair is preferred to Napa of the remainder.

Fourth in a tougher sprint here last time, Regional Rock could fare better at this lower level. However, it could pay to stick with the handicap debutants Jellystone Park and GEORGE WICKHAM. The former made all in novice company at Leicester back June and could prove competitive, but the Moores' gelding showed an impressive turn of foot to land a Wolverhampton maiden in fine style. He beat a subsequent winner in the process and gets the nod on the strength of that form.

Saying that, BNAIDER has more scope on his first start since winning with any amount in hand at Haydock back in May. Both of the placed horses have subsequently won and the son of New Bay is taken to make a successful return on only his third start in a handicap. Morcar makes more appeal than the likes of Maldives and Kudos Too of the rest.

Eve Johnson Houghton knows the sort needed, winning this in 2024, and Due To Henry could go well off his current mark. Blue Wonder has won two of her last three starts and, with improving pair Get This In and Wreck It Ronnie also in the field, WUOOD will need to pull out all the stops. However, upped from a mile after his Kempton fifth, he is expected to be better over this distance and could find the necessary improvement after only the three career starts.

Dialstone got off the mark when an easy winner at Bath, although an added half-mile is uncertain to suit him. If he does stay, he has a chance, while Roc De Fer failed to land the hat-trick when second at Musselburgh but cannot be discounted over an extra furlong. A tentative vote goes to PYLEATES, who was second over this trip at Sandown. He then went one better over an extended 2m at Doncaster and has a very willing attitude.
